For the third year in a row Full Tilt Poker sponsored a televised program called Million Dollar Cash Game in London, England and the game was played during the World Series of Poker Europe, so all the high stakes poker players were in attendance. Some of the players that showed up for the Million Dollar Cash game include: Eli Elizra, Jennifer Harman, Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, David Bennyamine, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, Chau Giang, Johnny Chan and several other players.
The players were playing No Limit Texas Hold’em with $300/$600 blinds and follows the same format as popular poker show known as High Stakes Poker which airs on the Game Show Network. Each player has to buy in for a minimum of $100,000 and has the ability to buy in for more and leave at any point during the game.
Last season of the Million Dollar Cash game was a success and quite entertaining, especially when Phil Ivey won an $800,000 plus pot against Patrik Antonius. Ivey held jacks full and Patrik held trip aces and when they finally got all the money in it made for the largest pot to ever be played on televised poker.
There is no word yet as to when the third installment of the Million Dollar Cash game will air, but all signs point to spring 2009.
