David Benyamine, a high stakes cash game specialist has parted ways with Full Tilt and is no longer a Full Tilt red pro. Benyamine has been playing on Full Tilt’s site for the past couple weeks though his red avatar has been removed and is no longer listed on the official homepage along with the other pros. The whole affair has been kept hush hush as there has been no press release from Full Tilt and Benyamine has not commented. There are now rumors floating around that he has a new deal on the table with another poker site.
Benyamine’s departure from Full Tilt is a big loss to the poker site. He has been a part of some of the largest pots ever played at Full Tilt and his daily clashes with other Full Tilt red pros such as Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen attracted high traffic numbers to the site. Benyamine was even considered Full Tilt’s go to player as he would play long hours at multiple tables playing the highest games available and never failed to get action.
Full Tilt now dominates the high stakes games and with the addition of Antonius to the Full Tilt Pro roster and the rumor of Tom Dwan possibly signing in the near future, the reason for Benyamine’s departure becomes a bit more apparent. Two poker sites lacking a big name high stakes player are PokerStars and Betfair, both seem like logical choices for Benyamine. According to pokerlistings.com’s Market Pulse, Benyamine has made more than $1.5 million in earnings at the cash tables during his time at Full Tilt this year. He is trailing only Dwan, Ivey, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond and “trex313″ for the most earnings on the site.
