Everest Launches Everest Poker Japan Cup

This is Everest Poker first exclusive event designed for Japanese players and it will be very special according to Jonathan May (Everest Poker Property Manager.) Japanese players will be competing for a prize package wroth $20,000.

Starting in April, Everest will be hosting live qualifying events in the Tokyo area. Japanese players can play the online and live qualifier events for free. The 2 online qualifiers will be held every month until August. The 30 qualifying Japanese players will receive a $1,400 prize package, which will include players travel and entry fee to the final live event, which takes place on the Tinian Island. The winner of the 30 man tournament will walk away with a prize package worth $20k!

May 4th 2007 -With the flood of new players Everest Poker had to do something about their outdated lobby interface. As of last week Everest Poker has released it's new lobby and it is fantastic. Here are some of the new features it has.

Everest Launches Finnish Product

May 1st 2007 - Everest Poker has announced today that their software and support will now be available in the Finnish Language. 'Poker is taking off in Finland and we're glad to be there,' said Jonathan May, Everest Poker property manager. 'All told, the country is shaping up to be one of our most dynamic markets and adding Finnish to our software appeared to be a natural progression for Everest Poker.'

Everest Poker Minute on ESPN Europe

May 1st 2007 - Everest Poker is one of the largest European online poker room and they have decided to launch a series of short poker news which will be featured on the European ESPN Network. The show will be first broadcast on ESPN on Monday April 23rd.

The Everest Poker Minute will consist of 20 one minute TV shows and will feature major professional players like, T.J Cloutier, Isabelle Mercier, Katja Thater, Lucas Pagano and many others.

Everest Poker Minute will air weekly for 20 weeks starting from from Monday April 23rd. There will be four repeats per week. ESPN's European Network airs in France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, UK, Poland and Portugal and reaches over 9 million viewers bi-weekly. The show is being produced by Red Room Productions.

2nd European Cup at Everest Poker

April 23rd 2007 - With the great success Everest Poker had with the first Everest Poker European Cup (EPEC) it just wouldn't make sense if they did not do this event yet. The EPEC is a freeroll poker tournament that has players from all over Europe to compete for a huge prize pool of €100,000!

This year they are switching it up a bit as well. Last year the event had 100 players from Europe playing against each other for a €50,000. This year they are stepping it up with 200 players competing for a €100,000 prize pool.

Jonathan May, Everest's Poker Manager had this to say about the European Cup, “The success of last year's event blew us away. We wanted to make sure the 2007 event was bigger and better in every way possible. The best way to do this was by doubling both the poker tournament size and the prize money offered.'

Details: The EPEC will begin on May 1st 2007 and run to August which players will then play out it in a live casino. The event will be ran from live and online satellite/qualification tournaments held in Europe. So far Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Norway, Switzerland, Austria and Portugal have all been as host countries for the live tournaments.

Everest Invites Polish Player's to their Software

April 16, 2007 - Everest Poker has announced that now Polish speaking poker players can now play on Everest Poker under Polish software. Everest has added the Polish language and support team to handle the Polish speaking community.

"Poland has embraced poker wholeheartedly and Everest's want to make it as simple as possible for more people from other markets to understand and enjoy the game,' spoke Jon May, Everest Poker poker manager. 'Adding the Polish language that is supported by the Everest Poker software is one of the easiest decisions we've made.'

The Professional Everest Poker Team

April 13th, 2007 - Everest Poker is coming out with their own Professional Poker Team. This team will be playing in tournaments and events all across Europe. The team is 4 players and goes by the name of Equipo Everest and will represent their country Spain.

Equipo Everest first tournament appearance was at the Poker Championship in Spain. These guys are local poker celebrities. Their real names are: Francisco 'Pakito' Lopez, Guillermo 'DJ Guil' Gonzalez, Santiago 'TheCatalan' Torres, and Maria 'May' Maceiras.

April 7th 2007 - Everest Poker is proud to be sending 13 players to the upcoming tournament; Torneo Di Poker which is held at the Perla Casino in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. The tournament will start April 21 2007. The entry is €1,500 and organizers hope to have a huge tournament with several thousand players.

New Countries Added to Freeroll Poker Tournaments at Everest Poker

April 7th 2007 - Everest Poker will be hosting a series of Freerolls to for new players from Finland, Poland and Hungary. Everest Poker is looking at expanding there player volume in these countries in which they offer full customer and software support in.

"We thought offering up a free poker tournament was the best way to welcome players from these three countries to Everest Poker," Mentioned Jon May of Everest Poker. "Each country will have their own no-limit holdem poker tournament with a $0 buy-in and a $150 prize pool."
