High Stakes Poker Season 5 Episode 10 Recap
Tonight is the last show with this group of players. Durrrr is a late arrival for this group but he and Antonius are the big winners up $100K or so each. Players are discussing the final hand from last episode which was classic Durrrr play. Gabe Kaplan comments on the hand saying everyone is getting a big kick out of it except for Lederer.
The first hand of the night is a pot between Hachem and Antonius. On a flop of Td 8h 4s Antonius bets $5K with 64. Hachem tanks for a bit and makes the call with 85. The turn is Qd, Antonius checks, Hachem bets $12K and Antonius mucks.
Durrrr is telling a story about Bobby’s Room. Sammy Farha gets sucked out on the river the other day and the dealer out of know where started laughing. Coversation about dealers being out of line started.
The second hand is also Hachem and Antonius with 8h 4c 8s Ts on the board. Hachem has Ah Kh, Antonius wins this pot after he check raises Hachem’s $2500 bet with a raise to $13,500.
Antonius was on a break so he came back into the game posting an out of position blind. Esfandiari calls with pocket 9’s. Antonius raises with Ac Jc, and action is back on Esfandiari. He calls quickly and the flop comes Ad 6c Tc. Esfandiari checks, Antonius bets $7K and and Esfandiari calls. On the turn Esfandiari again checked and Antonius bets $19,500. Esfandiari goes into the tank for a bit and makes the call. The river is another Aces. Esfandiari checks, Antonius bets $41,500 and after a bit Esfandiari folds.
The third hand Durrrr raises to $3000 Ah Td and Cassavettes calls. The flop comes Ac 3d Qc it goes check check. The river is Qs, Cassavettes bets $5K Durrrr calls. The river is Ad, Cassavettes bets $11K and Durrrr raises to $24,300 and picks up the pot.
Durrrr opens the next pot with Kh Qc, Negreanu calls with Ad 6s. The flop comes Ac, 9c Js. Negreanu checks, Durrrr bets $5700, Negreanu calls. The turn is Qs, Negreanu bets $11,000 and Durrrr calls. The flop comes Ts and Negreanu checks, Durrrr has sucked out making a straight and bets $28,800. Negreanu correctly lays it down.
The next hand Laak raises to $3200 with Aces, Esfandiari calls with Qd Jd, and the flop comes 7c 5c Kh, it goes check check. The turn is 3s, Esfandiari checks and Laak bets $5200 taking down the pot.
Next we see Laak limp with Jh Th, Dwan raise to $4K with 8s 8d and Laak call. The flop comes 6c 9c 6h, Durrrr bets $6300, Laak raises it to $21,300 and Dwan calls. The turn is 6s, Laak checks, Durrrr asks how much he has and then checks. The turn comes 8h giving Laak his flush and Durrr a full house. Durrrr bets $9400 and it goes into a great commentary from Laak trying to decide if he should call this small bet. This is a great hand to watch if you watch just one this episode.
The next hand Negreanu raises to $2500 with KhJs. Laak calls with 8s 5s, and Hacheck with 4’s. This is a fireworks flop of Kc 5d 8c with Negreanu getting top pair and Laak bottom 2. Negreanu bets $5K Laak calls. The turn is 9h, Negreanu checks and Laak bets $18,500. Negreanu raises it to $43,500. Laak calls. The river is 2h, Negreanu checks and Laak bets $54,200 quickly. Negreanu tanks for a while saying feels like three fives looking for a reaction. Laak sits quietly waiting for Negreanu to act. Eventually he does act and lays down the hand.
Laak limps with KdQc, Lederer calls with 6’s. Durrrr raises to $5400 with Ac Qs, Negreanu calls with Ah8h and Laak and Lederer both call. The flop comes QA2, Durrrr bets $14,300 and Negreanu calls. The turn is 2h Negreanu checks, Durrrr bets $34,600, Negreanu raises to $84,600 and Durrrr calls. The river is 4h, Negreanu checks and Durrrr very quickly checks taking down the hand.
The final hand of the night, Durrrr raises to $3K with JJ, Esfandiari calls with Qh 3h, Antonius raises to $14,400 with Ts 6s, Durrrrr calls. The flop comes Ah 8c 2d, Antonius bets $21,000, Durrrr calls. The turn is Ks, Antonius bets $52,000 and Durrrr folds.
