High Stakes Poker Season 5 Episode 2 Summary

Action picks up where episode one concluded with the same cast and players. If you watched last episode you’ll remember Tom “Durrrr” Dwan was in almost every hand so you’ll be surprised to learn the first few hands of this episode where durrrrless.

The first couple hands saw Doyle play a big pair against his good friend Eli Elezra and the third hand was a big pot between Peter Eastgate and Ziigmund. The fourth hand is when things get really interesting. Elezra decided to play it tournament style going all in and Negrenu called and agreed to run it twice. Daniel looks to be in great shape, but he gets two outed on the river on the first run, he then needs to sweet the second run. It turned out alright with Negreanu winning the second run.

It had been 4 pots in a row without durrrr winning a pot; however on the fifth hand he picked up pocket eights and took a pot off Negreanu.

Around this time Negreanu makes a comment to David Benyamine “have you been exercising lately?” This is a good time for us to mention just how brutal Benyamine has looked so far. It appears like he’s been playing for a couple days straight, as he looks like a complete zombie. Odd, hopefully it was just a rough night.

The sixth hand of the night saw Durrrr flop a straight against Ziigmund. It was interesting hand because Ziigmund flopped top pair and durrrr check to him on every street. Ziggy finally bit on the river and durrrr came to life coming over the top.

Hand #7 saw Negreanue get the best of Eastgate once again, the two had faced off on the last hand of episode one. Hand #8 was picked up on the flop by durrrr who had top two but unlucky for him both opponents were dry. Hand #9 started with Negreanue opening the pot with QT, but Elezra and Durrrr got him off it preflop (Negreanu would have one). No surprise here a dominated durrrr flopped the card he needed and took down the pot at show down.

The hand that is the most interesting in the history of high stakes poker took place on hand #10. Go to the 36:45 mark in the video to watch.

On this hand Barry Greenstein opens the pot with pocket aces and everyone calls. Seriously every player at the table called. Eastgate flops trips while holding 42 but durrrr showcases why many players consider him the best in the world when he pulls off an amazing bluff against Greenstein and Eastgate. Again go to the 36:45 mark in this video as this is clearly a must see hand.
