High Stakes Poker returned to the Game Show Network (GSN) on April 27, for episode nine of the fifth season. You can watch the episode online by clicking the play button below.

The show opens up with a discussion about Gus Hansen, meanwhile Simon limps with aces, Negreanu and Esfandiari call. The flop comes KK3, Antonio bluffs 4100, Simon raises and picks up the pot, which was the first pot he’s won in his High Stakes Poker on GSN career.
The next hand sees every player but Cassavettes limp in. Simon has AsQc, Hachem 5h4c, Esfandiari 9c8s, Antonius Ah 2c, Laak 6c 3c and Lederer Js9S. The flop comes Ac 2d 8h giving Antonius 2 pair. Negreanu puts in 3600 after it was checked around. Antonius calls, Simon calls, and everyone else folds. The turn is 6s, Simon checks, Negreanu now has a double gut shot he checks, Antonius bets 12,000. Simon calls and Daniel laughs a bit and then makes the call. The river is 5d, Simon checks, Negreanu checks and Antonius bets $37K. Simon contemplates for a while and calls. So much for being ahead on the episode.
Simon decides he has had enough and leaves, we’re now playing 7 handed.
On the third hand Antonius raises to $3500 with pocket deuces and Laak reraises to to $12,500 with pocket nines. Esfandiari is claiming his stack is short $50K and trying to figure it out while we learn Durrrr is going to be Simon’s replacement. The end result of this hand the board is 55Q43 and both players check, Laak takes the pot.
Esfandiari is still concerned regarding the missing $50K in his stack. Meanwhile he picks up pocket 7’s raises to $2000, Laak reraises to $7800 with Aces. Esfandiari calls and the flop comes KJ4, It gets check to the river at this point there are 4 spades on the board and Laak has the Ace. He bets 7800 and Esfandiari mucks.
Esfandiari continues to insist he is missing $50K. Meanwhile the star of High Stakes Poker, Durrrr is back in action which will make the show a lot more interesting now. He buys in for $500K and starts with a straddle.
Joe Hachem shares he was walking through the fashion mall and some guy comes up and says: “Hey I know you, your Gus Hansen”. Lederer shares how he once got the double needle someone came to him and said, “hey you’re Phil Hellmuth”, He said you got the wrong guy and he said “Oh yeah, you’re Anne Duke’s brother”.
On this hand Cassavettes calls $4800 bet with AQ, Hachem just made with AcJc. The flop comes KJA, Hachem bets $8K, Cassavettes calls. The turn is Th, Hachem checks, Cassavettes bets $25K, this sends Hachem to the tank for a while before he folds.
Esfandiari limps in with pocket nines, Antonius calls with As 8S, Lederer calls with Ah Kh, Dwan limpos with 8c 6c, and Hachem checks with 8d, 3d. The flop comes Td, 2d, 5c and Durrrr fires for $3400 with nothing. Esfandiari calls and everyone else folds. The turn comes Ad. Durrrrr thinks for a while and bets $9700 and picks up the pot.
There now talking about the Durrrr Challenge which was just a proposal at this time it was taped. The producers check the tapes over and over and discover Esfandiari’s $50K was in the envelope he never unpacked them when he started for the day. There is a big scene as they rag on him calling him an idiot. He apologizes a bunch.
Leder limps from UTG with pocket fives, Cassavettes raises to $3K with QJ. Lederer makes the call and the flop comes 779. Both players check the turn is a 4, Lederer bets $3K, Cassavettes tanks for a bit and raises it to $8500. Lederer folds.
Meanwhile there are interpretations going on, Negreanu does his Scoty Ngyuen impersonation to perfection.
The next hand Antonius staddles, Laak raises to $6K with AJ, Lederer calls with eights and Antonius calls with Ts4s. The flop comes 3s 2h 4h. Laak bets $16K, Lederer folds (wow tight) and Antonius calls. The turn comes Ks, giving Antonius a flush draw. He checks, Laak bets $37,300, Antonius calls. The river comes Qd, Antonius checks, Laak bets $80K and Antonius is thinking here for a while suspecting he might have the best hand. He makes the amazing call and the table is in complete shock and Laak is steaming.
The next hand Negreanu straddles, Antonius raises to $6K with KcQc, Lederer calls with pocket fives, Durrrr calls with Kd Th, and Negreanu calls with T7. The flop comes 7c 5d 9s giving lederer a set. Antonius and Negreanu check. Lederer bets $20K and everyone folds.
Esfandiari min raises UTG with 7’s, Dwan calls with Th3H, Negreanu calls with Td, 6s. The flop comes 549, Antonio Esfandiari bets $5100 and picks up the pot.
Lederer opens the next pot to $3500 with AdKd, Durrrr raises to $11,300 with 8d 6h, it folds back around to Lederer who raises to $36,300. Durrrr gets a count postures and the reraises to $65,600. Lederer goes into the tank and makes the call. The flop comes 3s, 2s, Qh, 8h. Lederer checks as does Durrrr. The turn comes 8h giving Durrrr the best hand. Lederer checks as does Durrrr. The river is 9d, it goes check check again and Durrrr takes down this massive pot at showdown. Lederer looks entirely shocked and the entire table is silent. They then start ragging on him saying you got durrrred.
Overall it was a very interesting episode and it is nice to have Durrrr back on the show.
